Forty-six days…
John 8:31-32
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (N.K.J.V.)
As usual, I have a million things to do. Just thinking about it is causing my body to ache. I’ve started exercising again to try to fight the nasty enemy named anxiety. I’m looking forward to the benefits of the exercise. What fuels my new dedication, other than combating anxiety, is that I’ve chosen to allow my husband to whisk me away someplace warm for my 40th birthday. This means I need a bathing suit, which means exercise is my new best friend. Well, maybe saying BEST is going a little overboard. Actually, FRIEND is probably going overboard as well. Let’s just say I’m exercising again and be done with it!
Anyway, regardless of the million things I need to do, (one million one things, now that I’ve added exercise) I need to make sure I’m making time for the word of God. I need to fill myself up continually with His truth and abide in it. The benefit of freedom, which comes from the word of God, is better than the benefits of anything else I can do for myself, including exercise. The word of God is truth, and the sweetest freedom you will ever experience comes straight from it. The freedom in John 8:31-32 is a promise. Grasp onto it today!
