Six days…
Psalm 57: 7
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise. (N.K.J.V.)
When something is steadfast, it is firm. It cannot be shaken. In this culture, I cannot think of much that is steadfast. We live in an age where constant change breeds excitement, in a place where people desperately want to live by the phrase, “rules were meant to be broken,” and, sadly and quite appallingly, where many think it’s within their rights to amend the Bible. If our hearts are not steadfast within the certainty of Christ, what will be? How can we be loyal to truth if we allow the winds of what is politically correct to blow us in any direction popularity resides? What is to become of our children and our children’s children if we do not teach them a solid foundation located within the pages of the book where truth and life are harnessed?
Our belief in Christ, His ultimate sacrifice, and the words of truth inscribed on each page of the Bible need to be steadfast. It cannot be amended. Our flesh will always be in need of repair, and it will be the steadfastness of our hearts that allow the repair to be made.
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (N.K.J.V.)
Though we may fail, God NEVER will. Though our society may change viewpoints on any number of subjects, God NEVER will. He is steadfast, and we need to make sure our hearts are steadfast. I urge you to sing and give Him praise today. Begin your Sunday with a declaration of a steadfast heart.
