HaveYouPrayedToday Psalm 66:20

Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me! (N.K.J.V.)

I wouldn’t be able to imagine my life without prayer. My pastor always says, “Prayer is portable.” Have you ever thought of it that way before? It doesn’t matter where you are or what you are doing, you can always pray. No one can take that precious gift away from you. Having the ability to take our petitions before the God of the Universe, the One and Only True God, is a gift.

Within the last five or so years I’ve had a breakthrough in my prayer life. My prayer relationship with God became much more intimate. The way I converse with Him is different than ever before. I’m reverent when I speak to Him, yet completely comfortable to say whatever I need to say. He isn’t just the great big God Who holds the whole world in His hand. He is also my Father. He is My Daddy. He is my Everything, and the perfect balance of all I could ever want or need.

There were many days I would think to myself, “How can such a powerful and mighty God want to be connected with little me?” And then He gave me an answer. He doesn’t think of me as “little.” He says I am His child, His daughter. He loves me. He sent His Son for me. He wants to mold me and shape me into a vessel to do His will. He wants me. He needs me. And most importantly, He wants me to want Him in return. He desires for me to long for His ways, to recognize His faithfulness, and to stand on His truth. It’s incredible. It’s what true love is.

When I was a little girl, my next door neighbor was a Christian. She is the one who introduced me to Jesus. One day she said this to me, “As much as I love my children, God loves them so much more. He loves them more than I ever could, and He loves you too.” Those words never left me.

The best part concerning my relationship with Jesus is that He loves all of us the same, yet He makes me feel as if I’m the only one. It’s amazing.

Prayer is what changed my relationship with Him. Through prayer I learned to trust Him. I spoke to Him and believe it or not, He spoke to me. He speaks to the depths of my heart and soul through whispers of love.

I promise you that if you commit to pray, your whole relationship with Jesus will change. It will grow and you will know with certainty that you are not only loved, but you are wanted. You were created on purpose by a God Who does not make mistakes. Talk to Him; He’s waiting for you.
