Isaiah 40:29
He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. (N.K.J.V)
Amen! Authority inhabits those words. I am weak; He gives me power. I have no might; He increases my strength.
Because I personally know and love Him, I have an inheritance of strength from My Father. His might pours out like living water into my soul. Jesus suffered on the cross 2,000 years ago, and His wounds still continue to work in my life and heal my heart. Daily.
Yesterday I revealed the ending to my 15 year struggle with miscarriage, stillbirth and infertility. The journey that took me there is what propels my ministry. The other day I read the following quote by C.S. Lewis, “Hardship often prepares an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny.”
Yes, Yes, and Yes! It’s true. The circumstances we are forced to endure in this world should be used to prepare us for an amazing future in fulfilling the ministry Christ has for us.
Ecclesiastes7:8
The end of a thing is better than its beginning; the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (N.K.J.V.)
There is a catch to all of this. It is beautiful, and exactly the way I want to be caught. We have to adhere to the command in Mathew 22:37. Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
You have to trust Him through the wilderness to find the promise land. You also have to be willing to conform to His will. The promise land might be a different place than you expected. But surely, the end will be better than the beginning. You must be patient and rid yourself of pride where your plans are concerned.
Listen, I know it isn’t easy, and I would not be typing these words if I didn’t have firsthand experience in the matter. I know what it is to walk in the wilderness feeling as if I was wandering aimlessly. I had no idea where my promise land was, or what would be there when I finally arrived. However, I held on for dear life. The crooked way cannot be made straight if you do not call on His name. If you are weak, He will give you strength. And then He will increase it. He will give you exactly what you need and so much more.
Don’t give up. Stay on the path. If you are crawling, He will give you the strength to walk. If you are walking, He will give you the might to jog. If you are jogging, He will give you the power to run. You can do it, but not alone. You need Him.
Are you in the wilderness?
