Sammy photoThis morning, my little 4 year old son, Sammy told me he was afraid of something. I am constantly trying to pass on knowledge from the word of God to my children. One of the biggest lessons I try to teach is the command, “Do not fear.”

Because I say it so often, I thought for sure he would repeat the statement word-for-word. So I asked him, “Sammy, what does God tell us over and over again all throughout the Bible?” He looked at me confidently and answered, “Do not interfere.”  Um… I think we need to work on that one a little bit more.

After I had a good belly laugh, I began thinking about the words my little one mistakenly uttered and how much truth they actually hold. Control is a huge issue. We sometimes fail to involve God in our situations. We often make our own will the priority rather than God’s will.

It is very hard to rid ourselves of what our flesh wants but it is without fail the best thing we can do. Daily I have to remind myself of the incredible words of wisdom from John the Baptist, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

Luke 11:2

So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. (N.K.J.V.)

Every single day I pray for all who might stumble across this blog. Today, I pray not only God’s will for your life, but that you would also be ready to accept His will. I pray that He would increase in your life and that you reap the harvest of His overwhelming love, grace, and mercy.
