Over the next few days, the blog is taking a little subject turn. We are setting out on the open road, in the family minivan, with our four year old twins in tow. From Pennsylvania to California we will be brave parents. We are determined to survive the infamous questions such as, “Are we there yet?” and “How much longer to Disneyland?” for only a brief 2,500 miles.

We will endure!

Clothes are packed, snacks and DVD’s are ready, and surprises meant to act as methods of bribery for peace and quiet are standing by. With missionary friends occupying our home while we are away, we will soon be out the door.

Did I mention both of my twins are sick with ear infections, colds, and coughs? Minor detail…

The question: Yesterday, my little son Sammy asked, “Mom, how many days does it take to get to California on an airplane?” I said, “It only takes about 5 hours.” His response, “Then why aren’t we flying?” Hmmm… good question, Sam.

The answer: Mommy and Daddy are eternal optimists. (Or, eternal crazies. It’s all in the wording.) We long for family time and memory making events that we hope will be more than tears and tantrums. Yeah, that’s why…

I’ll write from the road! Pray for us, please!
