I’m joining Lisa-Jo Baker for Five Minute Friday. Today’s word prompt is beautiful. I have five minutes to write with no editing.
Start:
My Fourth of July wrapped up by sitting gathered around a piano in a room full of people who are dear to me. Ages ranged from 2 to 91. I watched the faces of precious ones, who I’ve known since they were infants, sing, dance, laugh, and worship God with their gifts. I saw joy and adulation on the faces of their parents. I shared in the joy as well. I have a fierce love for these wonderful people, and once every couple of years isn’t enough time to catch up. Many miles separate us.
Some say time is a thief, that it runs too quickly stealing precious moments and youth. However, we can choose to look at time from a different eye. We can enjoy each precious moment with reverence knowing it won’t last and thank Jesus for the beautiful moments we experience. And then we can arrest it. We can lock it up in the memory bank of our minds remembering each piece of joy which came from simply being together.
Time can also be deemed beautiful…
Stop…
Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!
Beautiful! Precious time.
Thank you, Eileen.
I went to see Beth Moore recently and she taught on Time. Time doesn’t go- it comes. We are working up to something because HE is coming. What a needed change of perspective as I enter into the teenage years with my kiddos.
I also visited family yesterday- my hubby’s family- an 80th birthday. And we want to say ‘Time Flies,’ but we know ‘Time is coming.’ Because He is coming, and the whole earth groans for it. We feel it, in our spirits, getting closer and closer.
Thanks for sharing. Stopped by from FMF 🙂
Hi Stephanie. Beth Moore never fails with sharing beautiful wisdom. Love that!
As I have gotten older I have learned to enjoy and appreciate time more and more.
I agree, Amy. I’m learning to do the same. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Jennifer, so happy to hear the joy in your voice as you relish the sweet time away with your family. So cool how you don’t have to miss Five Minute Friday when away. Grateful for this beautiful time we live in..,hearts can connect all over the world through words. Continued safe travels.
Thank you, Lisha.
As I get older, I find myself wanting to slow time down. But I think really I just need to enjoy the moments that I am given. Blessings!
“We can enjoy each precious moment with reverence knowing it won’t last and thank Jesus for the beautiful moments we experience.” That is the start of truly living with joy ~ enjoying the journey and being content in each step! Thank you for this reminder!
