Today is one of those days when I feel like Chicken Little, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!”  It’s not. It is just an average day with the exception that I’ve allowed the average to overwhelm me. It happens.

This thing called grace… I need it. This thing called mercy… I crave it. I cannot breathe without them. If my life were void of those two gifts, loneliness would cry from deep within. If He doesn’t fill me up with the beauty of grace, then I don’t have anything left to give.

Lord knows that as women we are always giving. I’m so thankful that He is faithful. You see, He is always willing to give grace and mercy. It’s just that we don’t always see what is in front of us. If we can’t see His gifts then we can’t receive them. And then loneliness will settle inside.

We have tests and temptations every day. Every single day we jump hurdles. Often, they are the same hurdles we’ve jumped over and over again. But there are new lessons to be learned in the jump, and new strengths to build within the process of training.

Through it all, He proves Himself faithful. We are never alone.

So, at the end of this day as I reflect on the overwhelming feelings of everyday life, this comes to mind…

Psalm 36:5

Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. (N.K.J.V.)

His faithfulness reaches to the clouds and holds the sky up for us. His mighty provision won’t allow it to fall. His hand lifts the heaviness and lightens the burdens. It pushes away clouds so that we can clearly see the gifts of His grace and mercy.

So, if you feel like the sky is falling as well, just picture the strong hand of the Father holding it up for you… You aren’t alone.

Today is Five Minute Friday with Lisa-Jo Baker…
