There are days when life makes me tired. I wake up in the morning feeling not at all refreshed and still annoyed about whatever managed to creep in under my skin the day before.
My soul cries out, “Jesus, please don’t let me waste Your mercy…”
I slowly pick my never-fully-rested self out of bed and go through the same routine as every morning. My eyes don’t begin to open until I can smell the coffee brewing.
I whisper, “Jesus, please don’t let me waste Your mercy…”
I make sure everything is in place for the kids, I sit in my comfy chair with my Bible, pen, and journal, and then I open the text that is sacred to my soul.
I desperately speak, “Jesus, please don’t let me waste Your mercy…”
He is so merciful to me. He tolerates my bad attitudes, slips of the tongue, and sometimes discontented, angry soul. I have so much further to go on this journey. There is so much more to learn and give. Yet, through it all, it is His mercy that will propel me. It is His gift of grace that will keep me going forward. It’s His joy that will seep into my soul and cause the flood waters to bring peace even in the midst of the storm.
Maybe you are having a tired day, too. If you are, you are not alone. His mercy can water the dry soul and bring life where there was once nothing but sorrow. Allow Him to love you with His mercy and wrap you in His grace…
Psalm 145:8
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. (N.K.J.V.)
God bless you,
Jennifer

Dear Jennifer
Thank you!! I suffer from Fm/ CFS and it involves incredible fatigue. Yet, our Pappa’s grace and mercy are always sufficient for all our needs. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself for I have just recovered from a bad case of flu and was properly wasting our Lord’s mercy. But oh, what joy to confess our sins and receive forgiveness!
Much love XX
Mia
Hello Mia. I hope you are on the road to recovery from your flu, and I just said a prayer for your Fm/CFS . I pray the Lord wraps you up in His healing hands and gives you strength for today.
This was for me today. I am an only child taking care of a very angry, bitter, controlling, manipulative 85 year old mother. Some days it’s just overwhelming. I felt exactly as you described in this post this morning. Logged on looking for some encouragement and this post was at the top of my feed! Just what I needed!
Hi Melissa. I’m so sorry you are tired and dealing with this difficult situation. I pray that things will somehow become easier for you along the way and that you see His mercy in the strength He gives you just to make it through every day. God bless you. Be encouraged! Where the Lord takes you He will not leave you!
Your posts are always so timely for me. I am beyond tired, and haven’t been setting myself before Him long enough for proper refueling. The days seem to run together with no room for rest. I am so thankful that His mercies are new every morning.
Hi Jennifer, Visiting from The Weekend Brew. This is really beautiful. “Don’t let me waste Your mercy.” A prayer to lift up throughout the day, everyday. I don’t ever want to waste His mercy no matter what the day is like.
Hi Deb! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. His mercy is such a beautiful gift to us. It has been on my heart so strongly never to waste it, or take it for granted. I hope you have a wonderful, mercy-filled weekend! God bless you!
I need to come here more often and I really need to read your book. I did download…thank you!! Your words were needed this morning. I’m feeling oh so tired (and sad). But today I will remember to let Him love me and wrap me in His loving embrace. Bless you!!
Hi Beth. I’m so sorry you are having a difficult time. I just said a prayer for you. God is faithful to meet every need you have and He will! I hope you enjoy the book. I would love to hear feedback once you have read it. May God bless you today, and I hope tomorrow will be a little brighter.
“The text that is sacred to my soul”…I love this line Jen! Beautiful word/work friend! Swinging through from The Weekend Brew!
Thanks, Lisha!
