The word prompt is true…

Last week was my first blogging anniversary. The very first post I ever published was entitled, Discovery Mode. And the truth is, I’m still discovering.

I’ve taken a giant leap this past year. I’ve uncovered that I can share my story without fear of judgment. I’m a big girl and If need be, I can shake the dust. My job is obedience. True obedience…

I’ve learned it is okay to dream and then shout those dreams to the world. I’ve come to terms with the fact that whether few or many read, as long as I’m obedient to what He has called me, it’s okay.

As the leaves turn again, and I watch my children continue to grow into who they are and all God has called them to be, I realize I’m still growing as well.

I find myself more and more grateful for this audacious God I serve. You see, even if I can’t see my capabilities, He can because He is the One who gave these gifts to me and designed the plan for my life.

Psalm 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. (N.K.J.V.)

Yes please. I ache for God to order my steps.

With a gentle whisper He speaks boldly into my life. He makes my paths. And the beautiful truth is that though I’m still in discovery mode, I’m content and happy to be right where I am.

I’m a child of the living God, a wife, a mother, and a writer.

A year ago I would have never thought I would ever call myself a writer publicly.  How do you call yourself something for which you have no formal education and make zero dollars doing?

And then this came to mind…

I’m not making any money for staying home and pouring all the life and love I have into my children, but I’m still a mom.

To my knowledge, there isn’t a college that gives you a degree in the major of “Motherhood.” (And if there is, good luck with the knowledge you receive because it’s more than books.)

What I write is more than what books can teach me, its worth more than any publisher could ever pay me. I write to connect with your heart. Yeah, you. I care about you. I may not know you personally, but I don’t have to. God knows.

And this God I serve, He has a plan for you, me, and everyone.

When God showed Abraham where the land was that He was going to give his descendants, He told Abraham to walk in it long before it was fulfilled.

Genesis 13:17

“Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”

I’m walking in the land of writing, speaking, and encouraging. I was born for this. And guess what? You were born for something great also. So walk in the land. Don’t be afraid to call yourself whatever it is you want to be, because this God we serve is big. He specializes in the impossible. And that, my friends, is the truth!

Have a wonderful weekend!
