Bible Study photoYou have a ministry. It’s deep, raw, tear-soaked, and blood-stained. It’s yours. You own it, because you’ve battled for it.  In fact, you’re probably still battling for it.

And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry
which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”

– Colossians 4:17 (NKJV)

Archippus was a co-laborer of the Apostle Paul. Paul was sending him some encouragement while at the same time charging him to fulfill the plan God had for his life.

You have not been battling for nothing. And you can be sure that the battle you are fighting will prepare you for stepping out to aid someone else.

We are drafted by the Father Himself to go to war for other shattered hearts. (Tweet that.)

Whether through prayer, encouragement, or a monetary need, we’re called by God to fight for lives hanging in the balance. Through our own experiences we will be used.

Prayer is a great place to start.

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.

– Colossians 4:2 (NKJV)

On September 29, 1997, my brother-in-law sustained a traumatic brain injury due to a car accident caused by a drunk driver. I was at my in-laws’ home when we received the call that he was being life-flighted. As we frantically ran to the car to head to the hospital my mother-in-law started crying out, “Please, Jesus. Please, Jesus.” My father-in-law quickly looked at her and said, “Say, ‘Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.’”

I won’t ever forget that moment. Prayer according to thanksgiving is the key to drawing strength on the battlefield. There is power inside the thanksgiving realm of Christ. When we offer prayer with thanksgiving we see circumstances through new eyes.

The plan of ministry that God has designed for you still may need uncovered. However, I have no doubt that, over time, as you begin to seek Him through prayer and thanksgiving, little by little, step by step, a new piece of your life will be revealed to you.

May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.

– Psalm 20:4 (N.K.J.V.)
