It is no secret I LOVE to read. However, I’m in a writing season now, (I will be sharing about that in the spring!) which means I can’t read as much as I usually do. I really miss it! However, very soon, my husband and I will be escaping to the sun and sand for a week. You know, so we can remember what each other looks like. (All of you who have small children please feel free to stand up and shout amen!) This means I will be reading, reading, and reading some more while Paul snorkels. I’m not fond of fish nibbling on me. I guess it’s a phobia. I just can’t get in clear waters and watch them bump into my legs. It sends shivers down my spine. (And as I think about that aspect of the vacation, I’m thinking the snow outside my window looks much more beautiful than it did just a minute ago…)
Anyway, when I’m gone I’m going to be soaking up not only the sun, but the words of Melanie Shankle! She has another new book entitled, The Antelope in the Living Room. Her last book Sparkly Green Earrings was about motherhood. It did not disappoint! This new book is about her marriage, and I can’t think of a more appropriate giveaway for Valentine’s Day!
To enter, all you have to do is comment. To better your chances at winning, and have your name entered THREE TIMES in the drawing, all you have to do is subscribe to my blog. Just tell me in your comment that you have become a subscriber. I will check it out and enter you! (Disclaimer – you can unsubscribe at anytime. Not that I won’t be sad to see you go, because I will, so you should stay. I ought to just be quiet about the whole taboo unsubscribe thingy and move on… but really, stick around.) Wait, don’t answer that!)
On a more serious note, I want to tell you I saw Melanie speak at Allume and was so impressed with the beautiful way she expressed the Word of God. She’s the real deal! So, even if you don’t win, please buy her book. You won’t be sorry!
I will announce the winner on Valentine’s Day!
Ready, set, comment!
Love,
Jennifer

I loved her first book, can’t wait to read this one. Also I already receive your blog through my email does that count? 🙂
Thanks, Amy! It sure does!
I haven’t read her first one yet- I really need to! I already subscribe but I’ll see if I can refer someone else.
Thanks, Deanna! You will love her books! She has the gift of making one laugh out loud!
I would love to win! Thank you for offering the giveaway!
I subscribe to your lovely blog!
Well – I LOVE Melanie… and loved hearing her at Allume too! (And ran the other way when she was walking toward me because in my mind, we are already friends… I couldn’t take an Introduction! LOL!) This book is on my wish list for sure… however, until I get at least HALFWAY through that stack of books we got from Allume – I promised Hubby that I wouldn’t BUY anymore?! But Win? Well – that is different, right? 😉
I didn’t meet her either, Karrilee. My friends always say she is one of our besties, and I too couldn’t handle an awkward introduction. (By the way, I would be the awkward one, not her.) And you are so right, winning is different! Have a great day!
I read Melanie’s first book and enjoyed it. I am definitely looking forward to reading her new one!
I also am a new subscriber!
