Most of us know that at one time or another we will all have to face struggles in life. We will seek. We will pray. We will hope. And then we will repeat the process. Again and again we will pour out our hearts in the form of tears born from pain and frustration to a Creator who never fails to meet us right where we are.
Yes, He knows right where you are…
I can’t help but think of Jacob and the night he wrestled with God. He refused to give up until he was blessed. He might have walked away with a painful limp, but he would not quit, and God not only blessed him, He gave him a new name, and a new victory. (See Genesis 32:22-32)
Throughout our journeys we will undoubtedly deal with rain that might ruin our plans. However, it causes growth, and the “growing pains” we experience usually leads us to grace unseen until the sun finally shines through.
The scriptures tell us that after Jacob spent the night wrestling, the sun rose on him.( See Genesis 32:31)
I feel it important to tell you that while you are walking through the torrential downpour, hope can serve as your umbrella. It will allow you to breathe and feel whole again regardless of the storm surrounding you.
Hope can be sent through a heart-to-heart coffee date with a friend. It can be in the form of an “I love you” from someone dear. And it will always come through the Word of a God who holds you tenderly in the palm of His hand. It might even come through a wrestling match that results in an aching hip…
Those eyes you gaze into when you look in the mirror are the eyes of a woman created by God. You are a woman with purpose who carries beauty and strength, and you can do all things through Christ! Never forget that! (See Philippians 4:13)
Remember hope, dear friends. If it is storming in your life, pop open that umbrella!
Love,
Jennifer
