But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
-James 4:6
More grace. It’s what I need right now. To be honest, it’s what we all need.
All. The. Time.
The magnificent, beautiful gift of grace from our heavenly Father is our certainty and blessed assurance that we will make it through the desert land.
We need to believe that He is the unchangeable God who stands firm in His unchangeable Word. And when we believe, though the desert may seem dark and dry, our hope in Him will show us His beauty.
We can find beauty inside the desert.
Let me tell you something… Right now, in the desert place of grief where I reside, I’m looking for joy. I’m choosing to find it inside pain unspeakable. I’m learning to endure because I know that He is faithful. And I believe His joy far outweighs the pains of this world.
When I wake up in the morning, and before I go to bed at night, I speak five very important words: “Please, show me Your glory.” Moses spoke those words in Exodus 33:18. Recently, God has revealed something amazing about those words to me. I’m not going to share it right now, because I’m speaking about it at The Mercy Retreat, but I want to encourage you with something today.
No matter where you are, no matter what it is you are facing, you can make it because Jesus is everything you need. He will be your guide. He will show you His glory. However, you need to choose Him. You need to believe that He gives more grace. You must believe that His joy begins in a place much deeper than pain can ever reach. That means there is joy in your roots and it is feeding you life. It is nutrient rich.
But above all, in the midst of whatever trial you are facing, you need to crown Him Lord of Your life. Job said, “Though He slay me, yet I will trust Him.”
Friends, He is STILL on the throne…
Love,
Jennifer
