If you are new to studying with me, welcome! To understand what you can expect as a reader of my blogs, newsletters, and studies, I first want to help you understand why I am so passionate about teaching women HOW to learn Scripture, really understand it and apply it to their lives and the world around them.

In 2012, Ed Stetzer wrote an article for Christianity Today presenting new research about Christians and the Word of God. The results: they aren’t reading it! It’s a frightening statistic. According to Stetzer, less than 20 percent of Christians open the Bible and read it. Other research indicates there are 2.2 billion Christians in the world. When we take the data from Mr. Stetzer and apply it to the number of Christians in the world, we see that 80 percent out of 2.2 billion people, who claim to follow Christ, do not read His Word.
How can we take the Great Commission, Jesus’ last command in Matthew 28, seriously and live it out if we don’t know what the Word says? How can we have a personal relationship with the God of the Word if we don’t know the Word of God? This is why people often take the gospel and add to it, take away from it, and make it into something it was never intended to become. Most Christians cannot find their purpose because they don’t know the Word.

What are we going to do about that?

We need more passionate, truth-based teachers. We need women who understand the struggles of other women and who aren’t afraid to counsel them with the words of Jesus. My singular goal is to help YOU activate your purpose through the power of Scripture!

There are many books and bible studies on women’s issues and spiritual growth, but when you look at the numbers we just assessed, it proves there’s room for other women to communicate the truth of God’s word in their own unique styles without evolving the gospel and sending nothing more than a feel-good message. My prayer is that every reader of my work will emerge as a different woman. I believe God will change the hearts of struggling, purpose-seeking women through the teaching God has called me to provide. It will lead women deeply inside the word, they will want to be there once they arrive, and they will discover who Jesus is throughout the process.

Here are some tips to help you gain the most from what we are learning together:

  • It will be helpful to have a journal alongside your Bible as you study. There will be questions to answer, key verses, and prayers along the way that will be worth writing down throughout the journey. (This isn’t required, only recommended in order to gain the most from the study.)
  • Each week I will give a study overview. This consists of one or two sentences designed to give you a “heads up” on what we will be learning.
  • Every week as we begin the study, you will see a Key Point of Struggle and a Key Proof of Comfort listed. The Key Point of Struggle is a piece of the study that could possibly stir the most angst inside you as you’re working to seek purpose and live it well. The Key Proof of Comfort is a piece of the study that will help calm your soul as we discover truth together.
