Ninety-five days…

Psalm 91:14-16

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name, He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.  With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” (N.K.J.V.)

The other day when I wrote “Within the Margins of My Bible,” I spoke of how I sometimes write notes next to scriptures that speak to me in some way.  Next to Psalm 91:14-16, I have a note dated 2-18-08.  It reads, “I will continue to hold on to His promises.  He is the deliverer and victory only comes through Him!  Praise the Lord my God forever!  Amen.”

In February of 2008 I was fighting a hard battle with in vitro fertilization.  I had exhausted every other medical option available to me.  I was upset as to how things were unfolding in my fertility cycle and was told by physicians that my chances of ever conceiving were grave.  I remember the morning I read this scripture.  I had a deep realization that it didn’t matter what medical or physical options I had exhausted, I would never be able to exhaust God.  I stood firm knowing He had a plan far better than mine.  Though it was difficult, I refused to allow physicians to rain down doubt.  If God told me it was the end of the road, I would deal with it. Until then, I needed to stand firm.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him…”  If you feel you are in a hopeless situation today, regardless of whatever that situation might be, I want to encourage you to set your love upon Him.  Regardless of the final outcome of your circumstances, when you set your love upon Him, you will be delivered.  It may be different than you anticipated, or it may be exactly what you were praying.  Regardless of the end result, what He has in store for you is far better than you can ever imagine.  Set your love upon Him, and hold on to hope.
