Sixty-six days…
For those of you who are waiting for your heart’s desire to come to fruition, this is for you…
Proverbs 13:12
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. (N.K.J.V.)
When we ache desperately for something, it is incredibly difficult to wait for it. We usually start out strong and full of hope while we pray for our situation to turn around. As time vanishes, we feel ourselves weakening from the inside out. Just like the scripture says, our hearts really do feel sick. It’s what we do while waiting that makes all the difference.
Psalm 98:4
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth in song, rejoice , and sing praises. (N.K.J.V.)
I have found that seeking God with a joyful and praise-filled attitude restores hope when gloom tries to emerge. When our hearts are troubled and we find ourselves trying to make sense of our situation, while wondering if our prayer request will ever evolve into a praise report, continue to praise Him. When you feel like hope has completely diminished, praise Him. When you cannot remember what it is to feel joy, praise Him.
Proverbs 12:25
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad. (N.K.J.V.)
If we cannot break down the door to free ourselves from a despairing situation, it does not help to be anxious. Find encouragement from a trustworthy source. And, if it is not you facing despair, be an encourager to those who need you.
Everything is in God’s time and according to His will. Relax, breathe easy, praise Him, and seek encouragement. Be anxious for nothing while remaining hopeful for everything.
So hard to do in the midst of what feels like a helpless hopeless circumstance, yet so very essential to our spiritual wellbeing. Good word!!!
Yes, it is very difficult. It takes practice, patience, and prayer. Three P’s:) LOL
It is only through God’s grace that I randomly stumbled on to this (r/christianity) exactly as I needed it. This almost word for word replies some of the questions I was shouting at Him only a few moments ago. Praise God!
I’m so glad the post spoke to you. Have a wonderful day:).
What awesome encouragement !!
I’m so glad you were encouraged, Betty Lou:).
