Every Monday, I have the incredible gift of sharing my heart with a group of women. I’m able to tell them what God is doing in my life and teach the word according to what He is teaching me. This includes a step-by-step plan of the work He is doing inside my heart. This can be difficult at times. Revealing my heart and soul sometimes consists of uncovering my flaws. I have several…
Over the course of the last three years I’ve been doing my best to follow a well placed pattern of stepping stones laid out by the Creator Himself. I’ve been patiently and purposely jumping from one stone to the next. There have been times I’ve stepped off the stones into the water. Maybe this is because I sometimes need a break, or I’m unable to clearly see the next stone in the path and am unsure where to go.
I used to be deathly afraid of the water surrounding these stones. To me, it represented failure. And then one day I had a light bulb moment. I realized I was the only one who was defining stepping in the water as failure. Sometimes God has us take a moment to breathe, pray, and wait. Sometimes the water is living, and we need it to soothe us. Most big changes do not happen overnight. Yes, I need to forge ahead, but more importantly, I need to follow His path and make sure it isn’t my own plan I’m going after.
People out in the world are not always going to like me. Blogging has enlightened me to this. The more my blog readership grows, and I have contact with the outside world, I recognize that everyone doesn’t like what I say. This is a serious learning curve for a people pleaser like me. However, people do not define my success. God does! I don’t define my success. God does! And success isn’t always what we think it is. All that really matters is living a life that brings glory to the Father. We should be revealing the hidden treasure of beauty which lies in a deep relationship with Christ. We do this by living our day-to-day lives as an example through building relationships.
God is now calling me to make the next jump. I can clearly see where the next stone lies. I’m preparing to go for it. We are working on designing a speaking page attached to this blog. If you are affiliated with a women’s group who would like to book a speaking engagement and find out what God is doing in my life, and how I’m working to bring Him glory through it, then you will be able to book me for an event. In the meantime, while a new blog design is underway, you can email me at jen@agirlonthedoorstep.com if you have an upcoming event you would like to discuss.
Thank you to all who are such wonderful supports to me throughout this journey. I’m excited to walk in the land God has for me, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
