I spent the day cleaning my house. Up and down stairs I carried laundry, vacuumed, and scrubbed from top to bottom. House cleaning can be quite the workout. I found myself short of breath as I was busily moving nonstop. And then I began to think about the breath of God. Have you ever considered how awesomely powerful it is? He is creator of all things. What astounds me is how constant He is. Unchanging. Steadfast.
To think that a perfect, holy, and righteous God created me and knows me by name is humbling. I don’t deserve His love, yet he washes me in it, daily. He pours out mercy and sings songs of grace over my soul as I sleep. Because I breathe the breath He has given me, I have a responsibility to serve Him with it. Here are some thoughts I have today…
Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (N.K.J.V.)
Every breath we inhale the Father ordained, use it for something wonderful.
Job 27:3-4
As long as my breath is in me, And the breath of God in my nostrils, My lips will not speak wickedness,
Nor my tongue utter deceit. (N.K.J.V.)
Regardless of your circumstances, stand for righteousness.
Psalm 150:6
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! (N.K.J.V.)
Live a life of praise.
I’m in awe of an unending life in Christ. His hope is sure, His glory more radiant than the mind’s eye could ever imagine.
Be mindful of your breath today, and use it to honor the Most High God…
God bless you.
I’m taking a sunday school class of first-fourth graders through the firm foundations curriculum, which is a chronological teaching of the Bible. We just finished studying Creation and one of the things that stood out most to the few students I have is that when Adam’s body was formed, it was breathless. God breathed life into Adam! Furthermore, He continues to “breathe life” into us daily. Praise the Lord! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
For me, it is one of those passages that leaves me in awe of His power each time I read it:).
Just thinking about how God created all things, by speaking them into existence with HIs breath, is astounding. I love to breathe Him in, breathing in His breath of life, and exhaling the cares and stress of the world. Have a beautiful day!
Amen, Barbie!
Christ Jesus is Holy, and I love He loves me.
I love his wonders and all He does…..
Beautiful post
Thank you:).
