Ephesians 3:19-21
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (N.K.J.V.)
I’m a big believer that God places dreams in our hearts. They are nuggets of hope meant to nourish our souls. These dreams cause us to press into Him in a brand new way while working to pursue new adventures.
Sometimes we cannot rid our thoughts of certain dreams. Years later, we are still climbing what seems like the tallest mountain ever and find ourselves no higher than we were originally. I actually had a dream I asked the Lord to take away, because I didn’t think I would ever see it as a reality. Every moment was a fight, and I was tired of fighting. He refused to erase it from my heart, and I am so thankful. After fifteen years the dream was realized.
Let me tell you something… if God has placed a dream in your heart and it is a godly desire, then He will give you the strength to keep fighting. Don’t lean on your strength, lean on His.
- Imagine if we had the confidence in Christ to never give up…
- Imagine if we believed we could do what Christ knows we can…
- Imagine if we looked to Him for guidance instead of trying to control our own situations…
Oftentimes, in the above scripture we focus on the “able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or think” segment. However, if you look at the verse before you will see the key to what gives us the sustaining ability throughout our seasons of waiting. The key is, “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”
If we can grasp only His love, then we can stop thinking so much about where we are on the mountain, and just believe He is able to get us where we need to go in His time…
Today’s post is for Lisa-Jo Baker’s Five Minute Friday. (I think I spent twelve. Oops…)
Such an encouraging post! Thanks so much for sharing this…
Thanks for reading, Jenni:).
great practical anf thoughtful teaching Jennifer! I enjoyed this post and your reminder about the key to successfully abiding in Him found.in verse 19. This was our wedding scripture. I also love reading further into verse 21…unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all the ages, world without end. Amen.
Thanks, Lisha. I love the entire chapter. sometimes, it is so difficult to just pull out certain verses.
Thanks for these beautiful thoughts about the dreams that God places in us – very encouraging to trust, and to follow, looking to Him and pursuing Him above all else. And He is the one who will fulfill our dreams! (Visiting from Faith Filled Friday)
“He is able to get us where we need to go”. So true. Above and beyond what we can ask or imagine. Love that scripture. Thanks for such an encouraging word!

Dear Jennifer
I believe with you that imagination and dreaming are gifts from our Pappa God’s hand. The thing is; we are not always happy with His timing, His place, His pace and His way!!!
Happy FMF

To know the love of Christ… That right there … It’s all in the choice to get to know Him. Oh yes.
Great post!
Oh yes just imagine if we saw ourselves and other as He does. If we could see the pain and comfort it. If we could see the possibilities and encourage them. Oh what a difference He would make using us.
Love this. “If we can grasp only His love, then we can stop thinking so much about where we are on the mountain, and just believe He is able to get us where we need to go in His time…” I am so guilty, too often, of having my own time frame and my own plan…but knowing Him and knowing His love should bring me to that trust in His plan and a release of my own. Beautiful, friend…thank you so much for sharing! Blessings! 🙂
Thank you, Jen. I am a “do it myself” person. But I am learning to take on the lighter “yoke of God,” and find rest.
Thank you so much for this wisdom which is my great need.
Beautiful. What a blessing to see that dream fulfilled! You are an inspiration, sweet sister!
What a beautiful, hope-filled post Jennifer. I love it. Yes…imagine!!
God’s timing is perfect, and I am learning that we must keeping pressing into those dreams. So thankful God did not allow you to give up that dream in your heart!
