This is what the end of our long day at Disneyland looked like…
Two completely exhausted four year old children safe and secure in the arms of their daddy.
Yesterday, I asked the twins a question, “Do you know that mommy and daddy love you both so much?” They answered, “Yes.” So I asked another question, “Do you know God loves you even more than we do?” They also answered, “Yes.”
Sometimes, as adults, we are exhausted. And not from a fun day at Disney, but from emotionally draining circumstances. However, we need more than the arms of our earthly fathers. We need the arms of our Heavenly Father. For me, it is the mercy of His Word and the promises to which He is faithful that represent His arms around me.
July 2, 2012 would have been my daughter Courtney’s 16th birthday. She is buried in California, and I was unable to be there to put flowers on her grave. I was grieved. Our family that lives there had some very serious issues occurring, and I didn’t want to ask anyone to go out of their way. A visit to her grave is really just to make me feel better. After all, she is dancing in heaven. She isn’t in that pink box. Nevertheless, my heart was sick.
I prayed and asked the Father to send someone there to visit. Unfortunately, that pink headstone, a picture of faded footprints, and a lock of hair is the only evidence of her life.
I prayed that same prayer everyday for a couple days and then slowly went back to my regular routine while leaving the blues of her birthday behind. Two weeks later my cell phone alerted me of a text message. The message was a picture of our daughter’s grave. It was from our closest friends in California. They were out and felt compelled to visit the cemetery.
Right at that moment, God wrapped His arms around me and reminded me of His great faithfulness.
Can you think of a time when you were reminded of His faithfulness in your life?
Today, I’m joining Crystal Stine for her Behind The Scenes link up.

Jennifer, I am forever amazed at how God answers our prayers – His mercy and love endure forever and surpass all our understanding! There have been several times when He sent me someone to say the words my heart needed to hear in that time of discouragement and pain. He has spoken to me through friends and complete strangers. He has connected to amazing women at a time when I was lonely and just needed someone to hold me up and walk with me. Praise be to God for His steadfast love! And Blessings to you and your family today, friend!
Thank you, Vanessa. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you so much, Heather!
What a beautiful story of God meeting us in our deepest need… rejoicing with you friend that God heard your prayers and sent friends to help heal your heart.
Thank you, Tonya!
God cares about the big and the little, knowing what our hearts need in spite of what our heads know. Happy (belated) birthday to your sweet girl .
Thank you, Crystal.
This is so beautiful. I love how He provides and shows us His faithfulness. As my husband remains unemployed, we have been struggling for a while now. Last Christmas a blogger who I’ve never meant sent us a check to buy a Christmas tree. And a few months before that, another person I never meat sent us a considerable amount of money in the mail, which helped us pay our rent, among other things. He is so good!
Hi Barbie. He does provide for our needs through beautiful people willing to obey His call. I’m praying for your husband to find a job. I know the California job market is really tough…
