Hello, Friends! I’m linking up with Holley Gerth for her Coffee for your Heart 2014 Encouragement Challenge. There is something I need you to know today…
All week, I’ve been actively searching scripture referring to God’s love for us. I’ve needed the reminders and gentle whispers to my soul. No matter how much we know intellectually about the way our Father feels about us, it’s always good to remember how much He loves us. It’s a heart thing.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
-Philippians 4:8
I’ve been meditating on His love. And I’ve been praising Him for it.
His love for us is a miracle. An awesome God who didn’t need us, wanted us.
You are wanted…
You are always in His thoughts…
You are never alone…
You are loved…
What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?
-Psalm 8:4
I can say with great certainty the answer to that question is loved.
Man is loved.
We are loved.
When life makes you weary…
When old wounds seep…
And when brand new, wide, open doors cause hesitation to move forward because of the bittersweet of leaving something once beautiful behind, know you are loved.
Life is full of difficult decisions and situations which often make us cling to control, fear, and worry rather than love. It’s the love of Jesus which frees us.
His blood on the cross was made from love – True, noble, just, pure, lovely, good, praiseworthy love.
You, my friend, are loved!
Love,
Jennifer
I get to link up after you at Holley’s today, Jennifer:) I love the scriptures you incorporated into you post. Meditating upon what is good and knowing that the Lord sees me are beautiful thoughts that lead me straight to the heart of Christ this morning. Have a blessed day!
Thank you, Rachael! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for sharing your “heart” words today! And feeling the desire of want, rather than need, is so powerful to our view of God. What a life-changing truth… loving because He wants to, instead of because He has to (we know for sure that’s no so). http://vintagehousewife.org/2014/01/15/coffee-for-your-heart-you-are-loved/
Thank you for reading, Shannon! Have a blessed day!
