I’m finally caught up on the laundry. It’s a miracle, people. These are the small gifts in life that bring me joy – even if only for a few hours, I know every stitch of laundry in this house is clean. Until tomorrow.
I’m content to allow tomorrow to worry about its own things…
With a sigh of relief and sweet gratitude I surrender. I surrender to a joy that may seem like nothing wonderful to you, but to me is pure bliss. I’ve climbed my Everest. Now, please don’t ask me of the toys strewn all about. I’m not prepared to climb that particular mountain quite yet.
I’m content to allow tomorrow to worry about its own things…
I’ve been learning to indulge in gratitude over small successes. I used to look around and see everything that wasn’t done, or perhaps I could do better. I’ve stopped that rollercoaster ride of emotions right in its tracks. I am finally saying, “One thing at a time; one day at a time, sweet Jesus.”
And He is sweet, friends.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
-Matthew 6:33-34
I’m content to allow tomorrow to worry about its own things…
Too much worry distracts us from seeking God and His righteousness.
We tend to become entangled in what we wish we had, who we wish we were, and where we wish we could be. Who wants caught in that web? Not me. Not anymore…
I’m content to allow tomorrow to worry about its own things…
What comes tomorrow? I don’t know. However, there is one thing I do know.
No matter what trouble we face…
No matter what waits for us inside of tomorrow…
When we arrive, Christ will be there too.
Our lives are a gift.
One day at a time…
One task at a time…
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
-Mark 9:23
Do you believe?
Be content to allow tomorrow to worry about its own things.
Trust Jesus with your tomorrow and find rest.
Love,
Jennifer
Such a good word for me tonight. I am NOT caught up on my laundry. It’s a never ending battle. I am trying to take care of one thing each day. You are so right in that we needn’t worry about tomorrow. God’s got it under control. Blessings!
Barbie, the days I’m actually caught up are few and far between. When I finally am I have great joy! You are so right, it is a never ending battle. Have a great weekend, friend!
