Last night, at the Bible study I teach, I told a group of women, “I feel I’ve been walking down the road of life crossing thresholds straight into new promises and even climbing through the occasional window. However, suddenly, I’ve run smack dab in to a mountain.”
At first glance the mountain is far too steep to climb and the base far too broad to dare venture around. So I wait. I pray. I wonder what is next. And then after thinking I’ve done everything right, I feel heavy. My whole body seems completely weighted down.
This feeling is familiar, and I recognize I’ve been here before. You see, sometimes, God is moving behind the scenes of our lives. He is working miracles and we are completely unaware of the major transformations occurring. The weight we feel, well, that’s just the debris from the mountain. He is causing it to crumble right in front of our blind eyes. What we can see are the pieces flying toward us. We label them as problems and heartaches, but He is causing the mountain to fall.
I’m forcing myself to remember that when I feel the heaviest, God is moving the most. (Tweet that)
And I said, “This is my anguish; but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.” 11 I will remember the works of the Lord; surely I will remember Your wonders of old. 12 I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds.
-Psalm 77:10-12
This too shall pass; this mountain shall crumble.
Let us remember He is moving. And let’s be faithful to Him as we know He is OH. SO. FAITHFUL. to us.
Have a blessed day!
Love,
Jennifer
