I had a wonderful time at Bible study tonight. As a group, we had the opportunity to lay hands on a sister and pray. I mean really pray. Together. Unified.
God is the giver of beautiful gifts. He delivers hope in the voice of another and He sends strength through pleas lifted up directly to Him. He delivers exactly who we need at just the perfect time. Tonight, within the safety of four walls sat sisters who called on God for each other. We cried out for one another.
Hope is a funny thing. Sometimes it seems like the wind. We long to feel hope. We need it to fill our lungs with its air of freedom and yet often it sits small and still within the soul. We can’t see it, and yet somehow we keep breathing. In and out, one breath at a time, through valleys and up steep mountain terrain, we keep trekking. And when we finally reach the apex we are so tired and worn from the journey we stand uncertain of where we are. But then we look out at the view. It is in that moment we realize hope was with us all along.
I believe in a sure Hope – One which will never fail. One who promised He would never leave. He is always faithful and forever working in our lives. We can’t always feel Him, yet He is the air we breathe throughout the steepest climb.
If you are climbing the steep mountain terrain, I want you to know Hope is filling your lungs with freedom winds. He is there and you will reach the apex. You will.
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.
-Psalm 42:11
May the God of hope, the God who is Hope, fill you with peace today. You are loved.
Love,
Jennifer
