A couple months ago, I began a prayer challenge. Through it, I’m watching God do amazing things. My challenge was to last 40 days, but since I’ve started I can’t image going back. God is attentive to us and He will always meet our needs. Maybe not in the way we expect, but He WILL come through.
When I started the prayer challenge I decided to commit Psalm 20 to memory. It is a Psalm which has turned the light on for me inside many dark moments. Even now, though I’ve read it hundreds of times and memorized it, it is still speaking to me.
Here is the most recent verse which jumped off the page…
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you…
-Psalm 20:1
Notice that it does NOT say, “May the God of Jacob defend you.” It says, “May THE NAME of the God of Jacob defend you.”
It proves to us how much power is in the name of our God. When we call on His name we breathe in new life. It refreshes the soul and washes us clean from the inside out.
Today, I pray that the NAME of the God of Jacob defends you. If you need Him, and we all do, just call on His name.
You are loved and you are enough!
Love,
Jennifer
