Hello, Friends. Those of you who read this blog regularly know that the last seven weeks have been some of the hardest in my life. As I look back from July 16th until now, I’m seeing the beauty of God’s fingerprints all over the place.
Usually, we have to look for those fingerprints. They can seem microscopic, even invisible. But I’m seeing them. They are in the friend who brought me a meal, in the pastor who calls to see if I’m okay, in the friends who will do anything to help with The Mercy Retreat. (That is a BIG one right now!)His fingerprints are amazing, faithful, and ever present in each day. I’m so thankful.
One friend who has helped me through kind words and prayer support is author Holley Gerth. Through Revell Books, she just released her new devotional entitled What Your Heart Needs for the Hard Days.
For me, this devotional could not have come at a better time. I was able to receive an early copy from Revell and my heart has been truly blessed by every word. You see, when you read a book by Holley Gerth, you are reading her heart. She is genuine, gentle, and more than kind. The Holy Spirit works inside her and her gift of encouragement is like none other.
When I released my first book in July, Holley wrote me a beautiful review. She is a bestselling author, and with open arms she mentored, encouraged, and inspired this newcomer to keep going. She didn’t have to, but she did anyway because that is who Holley Gerth is. She’s the real deal and when she writes what your heart needs, she’s doing it from a place of genuine love and concern.
She reminds us that God is in us, that He protects us, receives us, and speaks to us each day. She stirs the heart in such a way that when you read her words, it’s as if she is right there with you. If you are weary and need something to lift your soul, this book is it. Holley will minister to you. I know she ministers to me.
You can find Holley’s new devotional, What Your Heart Needs for the Hard Days, anywhere books are sold. Go ahead… get it!
Talk soon, sweet friends!
Love,
Jennifer
