I have a chalkboard that hangs in my kitchen. Today, I erased the scribbled grocery list and wrote a scripture on it. There is something about wiping off the old and seeing a clean slate. Anything with a blank canvass whispers hope.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and steams in the wasteland.
-Isaiah 43:19
Do you know what is super cool? We serve a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and yet, He makes all things new. Can you even wrap your brain around that?
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
-Revelation 21:5
There is no need to dwell on the old because He is busy making it new. And when you know something new is being formed, then you can feel the freedom of hope. From now until forever you will wake up with new mercy. Every new day begins with hope, regardless of whether you see it that way or not, it’s true. He is faithful.
Don’t waste the beauty of a clean slate. Grab hold of hope and run with it. It’s yours!
What new thing are you hoping will happen in 2015?
Love,
Jennifer
